The US Men’s National Team is practicing in Barrafunda, a district in Sao Paulo, where Jurgen Klinsmann chose to stay despite having the US’s games at farther locations. US Soccer announced an open practice for fans on Wednesday so we chose to go and see the team. Once we arrived, we found out that all tickets were reserved for US Diplomats and Consulate members. However, we would not leave empty-handed and stayed at the door with other US fans to see if they would let us in while getting interviewed by Associated Press, Univision, CBS News, Band News, and Wall Street Journal. While waiting After very few people entered the Barrafunda installations we were let in by security.

IMG_7738-001As soon as we got in we got to see the players stretching and getting ready to have a scrimmage. The scrimmage lasted only 30 minutes but it was enough for me to get impressed by Mix Diskerud and Aron Johannsson who played well. Aside from them, it is evident that Michael Bradley and Clint Dempsey are key players in this team and must perform well for the USMNT to be succesful.
IMG_7808After the scrimmage, the players practiced free kicks and shots on goal to later end the practice while stretching again. I was surprised to see how much Jurgen Klinsmann talks to the players and gives them advice. Afterwards, most of the players stopped by where we were to give signatures and take pictures.
